Mancetter

Mancetter is a village in Warwickshire, adjoining Atherstone, of which it is now virtually a suburb. It is on the River Anker.

Mancetter was a Roman town, named Manduessedum, on the ancient Watling Street.

The 13th century parish church has mediaeval glass.

There are a number of picturesque old buildings, including the Plough Inn.

Two 16th century martyrs, Robert Glover and Joyce Lewis, are associated with the village.

Many historians believe that Boudicca`s last battle was fought here.

Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Mancetter for groups.
