Llandudno
Llandudno is a very pleasant and very popular seaside resort on the North Wales coast, with many fine hotels along its seafront. It is 5 miles from Colwyn Bay.
The town is situated along the bay between the two headlands known as the Great Orme and Little Orme.
Between the two is a long promenade, which culminates in Llandudno Pier, with its cafe and amusements.
There is a cliff road running round the Great Orme to another beach, while the street running Great Orme Tramway takes passengers to the top.
The town itself has a fine shopping centre, with continuous canopies along many of the streets.
Lewis Carroll visited Llandudno, and this is celebrated by the Alice in Wonderland Visitor Centre and a White Rabbit Statue.
Llandudno takes its name from St. Tudno, who built a hermit's cell on the Great Orme.
