Holmfirth

Holmfirth is a small mill town in Yorkshire, 5 miles from Huddersfield, where the Peak District meets the Pennines.

The town is best known for the long running BBC TV series "Last of Summer Wine", which is filmed here. Visitors can have a meal or snack in "Sid's Cafe", or alternatively at the tea shop with the splendid name "The Wrinkled Stocking".

The Holmfirth Postcard Museum displays a collection of traditional saucy seaside postcards produced by the local firm Bamfords.

Nearby is Holme Moss, surmounted by a TV transmitter.
