Hebden Bridge
Hebden Bridge is an old mill town in Yorkshire, in the heart of the Pennines and 7 miles from Halifax.
It is in origin an extension of the older village of Heptonstall, on higher ground. The two are still connected by a steep packhorse way.
Many of the old mill buildings have been converted into museums and the like.
The Rochdale Canal runs through the town, and there are narrow boat rides available. Also flowing through the town is the River Calder.
Hebden Bridge is the home town of Margaret Thatcher`s chief spin doctor, Bernard Ingham.
