Fakenham

Fakenham is an attractive market town in Norfolk, on the River Wensum and 23 miles from Norwich.

St. Peter and St. Paul's Church is in the Perpendicular and Decorated styles. It has a fine tower, rising to 115 feet, and excellent Victorian stained glass.

The small Market Place is very busy, and the stalls spill into nearby streets. There is also a thriving antiques market and auctioneers.

The Old Mill Hotel has been converted from a corn mill, and is attractively situated beside the mill race.

The Museum of Gas and Local History has been converted from the town gasworks.

Just outside the town is a National Hunt racecourse.
