Crank
Crank is a village in Merseyside, formerly Lancashire, not far from St. Helens.
It lies between Rainford and Billinge on a ridge, with some fine views.
There are caves in the vicinity where Catholic priests were hidden at the time of persecutiion during the 16th century.
The Houghwood Golf Course, with its Fairways Restaurant, is on the slopes of the ridge.
