Compton Bishop
Compton Bishop is a tiny little village in Somerset, off the by-road that runs between Axbridge and Weston-super-Mare. The suffix "Bishop" denotes that it was once owned by the Bishop of Bath and Wells.
It has a picturesque cricket field in the shadow of the mediaeval church.
The village nestles beneath Wavering Down, between the Bleadon Hills and the better known Mendip Hills.
The M5 motorway now runs close to the village.
