Coalport

Coalport is a small town in Shropshire, 5 miles from Telford. Its name comes from it having been a port for shipping coal.

It is situated on the banks of the River Severn, along the picturesque Ironbridge Gorge.

One of Ironbridge`s fine collection of museums is at Coalport, featuring the famous china made here from 1795, and fashionable from about 1830.
