Byker
Byker is an inner city area of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, lying to the East of the City Centre, along the Ouseburn.
Hadrian`s Wall ran through what is now Byker. The area was inhabited by soldiers, as well as their suppliers of food and traders.
The popular TV series for teenagers "Byker Grove" was set in Byker, although it was filmed the other side of the city at Benwell.
