Bolsover
Bolsover is a market town in Derbyshire, 6 miles from Chesterfield.
Bolsover Castle is splendidly situated along a ridge. It was built in the 17th century by Charles Cavendish, son of Bess of Hardwick. There was formerly a Norman castle, built by William Peveril, on the site.
The Market Place houses a market which has been in existence for 700 years.
St. Mary`s Church has a 13th century tower, but was otherwise rebuilt after a fire in the 19th century. It contains monuments of the Cavendish family.
The town`s M. P. Dennis Skinner is widely and affectionately known as "The Beast of Bolsover".
