Barnsdale
Barnsdale is an area in Rutland, about three miles to the East of Oakham, the county town.
It runs along the North side of Rutland Water, the largest man made lake in Europe.
There are a number of hotels, which are ideally placed for enjoyment of the lake and the delights of the county in general.
The best known feature of Barnsdale is Barnsdale Gardens, created by the famous TV gardener, the late Geoff Hamilton, and still run by his son Nick and daughter-in-law Sue.
In 2006, the Rutland Falconry Centre moved to Barnsdale from Greetham.
