Amberley
Amberley is a picturesque village in Sussex, on the River Arun and 5 miles from Arundel.
St. Michael`s Church is partly Norman.
Amberley Castle dates from the Norman period and was strengthened around 1380, with a gatehouse, for use by the Bishops of Chichester. It is now a hotel.
Amberley Chalk Pits now operate as a working industrial museum, complete with little trains and vintage buses. One of the James Bond films, starring Roger Moore, was partly filmed here.
There are delightful water meadows known as Amberley Wild Brooks.
The children`s author Noel Streatfield, was born at Amberley.
