Sweeney Todds London (A Guided Walk in London)
"Sweeney Todds London" is one of the fascinating Guided Walks devised and led in the historic City of London by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These strolls are an excellent way of soaking up some Local History.
The starting point for this walk is outside St. Pauls Cathedral, beside the Queen Anne Statue.
During the walk, Colin points out places connected with Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, who is said to have slit the throats of customers and delivered them to the nearby premises of Mrs Lovett, who made exceedingly fine meat pies.
The route for the walk includes Fleet Street, where the barber had his premises, and Bell Yard, where Mrs Lovett had her pie shop, as well as some very atmospheric alleyways.
Interest in Sweeney Todd reached new levels in 2008 with the release of Tim Burtons film starring the extraordinary Johnny Depp.
This is one of a number of walks that Colin leads looking at the darker side of London. These include "Haunted London", "The Haunted Capital", "The Grim Reapers London" and of course "Jack the Ripper".
