Stratford-upon-Avon (A Coach Trip in Stratford-upon-Avon)
"Stratford-upon-Avon" is one of the popular Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Toiurs.
These trips are a very enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester at 8am and is expected back about 9pm.
Colin gives his inimitable commentary along the way, bringing to life the sights and places encountered along the route. This is one of the aspects that make Colin`s excursions quite unique.
Stratford-upon-Avon is famous the world over for being the birthplace of the great playwright William Shakespeare, and the town to which he retired. But it is also a delightful town quite apart from this, with a fine collection of picturesque timber framed houses and a lovely waterside beside the River Avon.
As part of the trip, Colin leads a Guided Walk around Stratford-upon-Avon, pointing out many places of interest, including of course Shakespeares Birthplace, but also Halls Croft, Nashs House, Holy Trinity Church and the Guild Chapel.
