Spalding and Peterborough (A Coach Trip in Lincolnshire)
"Spalding and Peterborough" is one of the popular Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These excursions are a most enjoyable way of getting to know some Local History.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station, in Leicester City Centre, at 9am, and is due back about 7.30pm.
It is a two stop tour, visiting the historic towns of Spalding and Peterborough, with Colin giving his usual informative commentary along the way.
Spalding, in the centre of the famous tulip fields, is an old market town on the River Welland, where the Spalding Gentlemen`s Society was the first antiquarian society in the land.
Peterborough, now a busy city, has a magnificent cathedral where Catherine of Aragon and Mary Queen of Scots were both buried.
