Colin Crosby Heritage Tours

Shakespeare Country Tour (A Coach Trip in Warwickshire)

The "Shakespeare Country Tour" is one of the many popular Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These excursions are an excellent way of soaking up some Local History.

This excursion takes place on a Sunday afternoon, allowing all those who habitually do something else on a Sunday morning (such as going to church) to be free to come. And of course public transport is less frequent on a Sunday morning.

The tour is around the Warwickshire area, the home county of the great dramatist William Shakespeare, who was born at the outstanding market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, where he also died and was buried.

The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester City Centre at 1pm, and is expected back anout 8pm.

Colin gives his inimitable commentary along the way, pointing out places of interest and relating some of their history.

The lovely River Avon is very much in evidence on this tour, together with such picturesque towns as Kenilworth, Leamington and Warwick.

There is a stop for a couple of hours at Stratford-upon-Avon, where many places of interest can be visited, such as Shakespeares Birthplace, the Gild Chapel and Holy Trinity Church.

There are plenty of restaurants and teashops at Stratford-upon-Avon.
