Portsmouth (A Coach Trip in Portsmouth)
"Portsmouth" is one of the very popular Coach Trips devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These trips are a most enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station, in Leicester City Centre, at 8am, and is expected back about 9pm.
Colin gives his usual commentary along the way, bringing to life the interesting sights and places encountered along the route. This is one of the things that make Colin`s trips unique.
Portsmouth, on the South coast in Hampshire, is a widely regarded as England`s premier maritime city. It has famous Dockyards, fantastic views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and its own seaside resort at Southsea, and was the birthplace of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Jim Callaghan, Charles Dickens and Peter Sellers.
The trip includes a Guided Walk by Colin of this amazing city in his inimitable manner, pointing out many places of interest, including Portsmouth Cathedral (Anglican), HMS Warrior 1860, Spice Island and the iconic Spinnaker Tower.
