Forest of Dean Tour (A Coach Trip in Forest of Dean)

The "Forest of Dean Tour" is a Coach Trip devised and led by Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours, the well known Blue Badge Guide.

These excursions are an enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.

The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester at 8am, and will return at about 9.30pm.

This is an "Autumn Colours Tour", timed to hopefully show thousands upon thousands of trees in all their Autumn finery of red, russet and gold.

Colin gives his usual commentary along the way, which of course is what makes his tours unique.

The coach will wend its way through the lovely Forest of Dean, in the border country between England and Wales.

There are three stops, of approximately an hour each.

The first stop is at Gloucester, an ancient cathedral city on the River Severn, which dates back to Roman times.

Then it's Ross-on-Wye, a lovely town on the River Wye with superb views.

And then Chepstow, with one of the earliest Norman castles.

There is also a brief stop at Tintern Abbey, with its picturesque ruins.
