Derwent Valley Tour (A Coach Trip in Derbyshire)

The "Derwent Valley Tour" is a Coach Trip devised and led by the well-known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These excursions are a lovely way to soak up some Local History.

The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester City Centre at 8am, and is expected back about 9pm.

This is an "Autumn Colours Tour", designed to show off the trees in their Autumnal finery of russet and gold. The Derwent Valley is the wooded valley of the River Derwent in Derbyshire.

There are three stops of about an hour each.

Belper is an interesting town with the impressive Strutt mills and attractive riverside gardens.

Hathersage is on the edge of the Peak District, and is famous for the grave of Little John.

Matlock Bath, a spa town set in the deep gorge of the Derwent, has the air of a seaside town many miles inland.

Colin gives his inimitable commentary as the coach wends its way along the route. This is one of the features that make Colin`s trips quite unique.
