World Travel Market
I went to another of the trade shows for people in the tourism industry recently.
This one was the World Travel Market, an enormous show that takes place annually at Excel, in the regenerated London Docklands at Custom House.
The World Travel Market is by far the biggest show that I attend each year, and it also covers the widest area. Whereas almost all the other shows concentrate on the British Isles, with a smattering of the Continent, this one is truly global.
There is, of course, a British element, so I was able to talk to people from such places as Blackpool, Cornwall, Liverpool, London and Yorkshire, but I could get an idea of the attractions of such places as Egypt, Israel, Peru, Russia, Turkey, United States etc etc.
It`s tiring, but a very interesting show nevertheless.
