Weekend in Torquay
My wife Anne and I recently spent a weekend in Torquay, as a familiarisation visit to see how the Daish`s company arrange for groups.
The weekend started on the Friday morning, when we boarded Daish`s own coach at St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester. After a couple of pickups and comfort stops at Hopwood Park and Sedgemoor, we arrived at the Devonshire Hotel in the late afternoon.
The two of us took a stroll before dinner to Daddyhole Plain, thoroughly enjoying the views across Torbay.
On the Saturday, we went out by coach, stopping first at Dawlish, to see the black swans. Then it was off to Powderham, where we browsed in the gift shops, and then to Exmouth, from where we embarked on a cruise on the River Exe.
Sunday`s trip on the coach took us to the lovely house known as Coleton Fishacre, then on to the historic port of Brixham. Back in Torquay and before dinner, the two of us strolled down to the harbour.
Then on the Monday it was time to come home. The coach brought us back to Leicester by way of Michael Wood and Hopwood Park.
We had a good time.
