Visit to the Lake District
I went recently as a passenger on a Coach Trip to the Lake District.
The trip was part of the programme organised by Woods Coaches of Leicester, the company from whom I hire coaches for my own excursion programme.
We stopped at Sandbach Services in the morning, where I am glad to say I had time to partake of a cooked breakfast.
Our first stop in the Lake District was at the busy little town of Bowness-on-Windermere. I took a ride on one of the cruise boats on Windermere from Bowness Pier. It was great to be able to breathe in the fresh air on the lake. After that, I visited St. Martin's Church.
Then we went on to Grasmere. I had a look in St. Oswald's Church and a stroll around the village, succumbing to the temptation to consume my first ice cream cone of the season.
After that, we went on to Keswick, with its impressive Moot Hall at the top of the rising Main Street.
And on the way back, we stopped at Sandbach Services again.
I do enjoy going on these trips, and having an enjoyable and relaxing day.
