St. David`s Day Visit to Mid Wales
On St. David`s Day, I went on a Woods Coaches trip, appropriately to Wales. St. David, of course, is the patron saint of Wales.
Even though, as a Blue Badge Guide, I organise and lead my own Coach Trips to far flung destinations, I still enjoy being a passenger on other companies` excursions.
After leaving Leicester quite early in the morning, we made our way towards Wales and made a stop at Norton Canes Services, where I was able to get a good breakfast.
Our first stop in Wales was at Llangollen. I strolled up to the Canal Basin and had a coffee in a nice tea shop.
Then it was out, through impressive mountain scenery, to Bala, where I had a stroll beside Bala Lake and of course had a coffee in another tea shop.
Coming back, the scenery was even more impressive, and we eventually stopped at Welshpool, where another coffee was consumed.
On the way back to Leicester, we stopped again at Norton Canes.
It was very nice, as usual, to sit back and be taken to nice places.
