Restrictions on Tobacco in France
Those of you who still smoke may wish to be careful in future when travelling abroad.
The tradition of bringing cheaper cigarettes into the country from abroad is under threat.
The French Government are expected to ratify a new law which restricts the carrying of cigarettes to 200 (that’s 10 packets of 20).
At the same time, homes in France are expected to be restricted to having 2000 cigarettes on site.
Obviously disregarding these limits would be regarded as a serious matter.
So watch for news – and don’t be tempted.
By the way, I personally used to be a heavy smoker. I was a 50-a-day man and smoked from the age 0f 17 to 48. But I have not smoked at all since 1991.
