Jolly Hockey Sticks

There was another meeting of the Library Club recently at the Central Lending Library in Leicester.

This time the speaker was Pearl Penrose, whose talk was called "Jolly Hockey Sticks".

It was about the girls` school stories of Enid Blyton.

Having been a boy, I had only heard of these stories. I was much more familiar with the Famous Five and, of course, Noddy and his friends.

But the talk was very interesting indeed.
