Film Tourism Conference
There is a to be a conference on film tourism in March.
Organisers say that the London International Film Tourism Conference, which is sponsored by the magazine "Travel GBI", has led to "an amazing level of interest" from Britain and from around the world.
A growing number of destinations have spotted the sense in promoting their links with the subject matter of films, or the fact that films were shot in their areas.
In recent years, lots of people have visited areas connected with "Calendar Girls", "The Da Vinci Code" and the Harry Potter films, as well as the newly-released "Miss Potter".
The whole thing interests me more than somewhat, in view of my past as a cinema manager and my present as a Blue Badge Guide.
I wish the conference every success.
