Destinations
I went to London recently, to go to the Destinations travel show at Earls Court.
I like to go to these shows, not so much to learn about new places, but rather to do some networking – chatting to people, putting names to faces etc.
Destinations this year was sponsored by The Times, and is open to the public.
It’s a very big exhibition, with interesting stands promoting destinations all over the world – Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australasia.
But there were also some stands representing places in Britain. These included the Black Country, Colchester, East Yorkshire, Essex, the Shetlands and Shropshire.
Destinations, though, doesn’t just feature geographical locations. There are travel companies and hotels, as well. Not only that, there are stalls from book and magazine publishers, and people selling food from around the world and clothes from around the world.
In a few weeks, the exhibition will be taking place again, this time at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) at Birmingham.
Try and go.
