Cotswolds Stll Lovely inthe Winter
I went on a very nice Coach Trip to the Cotswolds with Woods Coaches recently.
It’s nice to sometimes go on other people’s trips, and just relax without actually being in charge of anything!
I haven’t been to the Cotswolds in the Winter before, and I have to say that the area is still very beautiful. The main difference is that there aren’t many people about.
During the morning, we stopped at the Coach Park and Leisure Centre at Stratford-on-Avon for a stretch of the legs.
Then it was on to Stow-on-the-Wold. This little town, just off the Fosse Way, is the highest town in the Cotswolds, and according to a local saying is “Stow-on-the-Wold, where the wind blows cold”. There are lots of nice teashops and a fine collection of antique shops.
We then went on to Bourton-on-the-Water. This is where the delightful little River Windrush is crossed by several bridges. It’s understandably one of the most photographed places in the country, and again has an excellent selection of teashops.
I’ve organised my own Coach Trips to this part of the country, under the title, “Cotswolds Tour”, in the past. Perhaps it’s about time I did so again.
