Christmas Favourites
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, I carried out some polls among my Facebook friends.
Firstly, I asked them to tell me their favourite Christmas carols. The results were
1. In the Bleak Midwinter.
2. (Joint) Away in a Manger; Hark the Herald Angels Sing; Silent Night.
5. (Joint) O Little Town of Bethlehem; Once in Royal David`s City.
Secondly, I asked them to name their favourite secular (i.e. non-religious) Christmas song. The results this time were
1. (Joint) Last Christmas; Lily the Pink.
3. (Joint) I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day; White Christmas.
5. (Joint) Baby It`s Cold Outside; Winter Wonderland.
Finally, I asked which person or group of people, in entertainment / arts, personifies Christmas for them. The results were
1. (Joint) Bing Crosby; Slade.
3. John and Yoko.
4. Nat King Cole.
5. (Joint) Greg Lake; Morecambe and Wise; Only Fools and Horses.
Would you have agreed with any of this?
