Amazing Church at Breedon-on-the-Hill
I recently had the privilege of showing a group from Bakewell around the amazing church at Breedon-on-the-Hill.
The U3A at Bakewell, some of whom have connections with Haddon Hall, asked me to do this for them, on their way to a visit to Staunton Harold.
St. Mary and St. Harduph Church stands proudly on top of a prominent hill overlooking Charnwood Forest and the Trent Valley, and can be seen for many miles away.
I was able to show the group various features of this outstanding place of worship, not least the wonderful collection of Anglo-Saxon carvings and friezes, an astonishing survival.
I will be very pleased to organise a similar visit for your own group. Feel free to get in touch.
