A Visit to Ripon
I went on a Woods Coaches trip to Ripon recently.
As I have said before, going on other people’s trips is a very pleasant way to relax, and still see interesting places.
Ripon is an ancient, if small, city in Yorkshire. It has a large and busy Market Place and a beautiful cathedral, with an Anglo-Saxon crypt designed by the amazing St. Wilfrid.
While I was there, I found some things that I had not previously seen, including the Leper Chapel, the Spa Gardens and the canal, which is the Northernmost point on England’s canal system.
Later on, the coach visited Lightwater Valley, which has a funfair, bird of prey centre and retail outlet.
Yes, a good day – and incidentally, I will be taking a coach myself to Ripon next year.
